Fans have expressed some disappointment.

Recently, ZEROBASEONE‘s Gunwook was involved in a “bad attitude” controversy.

ZEROBASEONE recently made their comeback and promoted the release through various events, including face-to-face fan activities.

During a recent event, a drawing was held for attendees to win an additional Polaroid prize, in which each member drew a number and read it aloud. Gunwook did the same, drawing a number and announcing that it was ten.

However, fans looking back at the footage have claimed that the number Gunwook pulled was not actually 10. Close-ups of the paper slip, which was slightly transparent, focus on the shape of the number, which some believe was the number 6 with a line underneath.

As a result of the alleged manipulation in favor of a specific fan, the idol has faced criticism, along with other comments about his behavior.

Is the alleged signed Polaroid manipulation incident involving ZEROBASEONE’s Park Gunwook actually real?! He picked number 9 to give to a Japanese fan and then confidently lied, saying it was number 10. Does he think the fans below are complete idiots?! There were multiple cameras there and everyone was watching—did he really think he wouldn’t get caught? lol. Does he think all the Park Gunwook fans who were at the venue that day are blind or something?

That’s not the point. With fans right there in front of him, is it really okay to yawn in such an unsightly, over-the-top way?

Following the backlash over the alleged rigging of the event, Gunwook shared an apology on Bubble, promising to “reflect” on his actions.

Hello, this is Park Gunwook of ZEROBASEONE.

I am writing this message to sincerely apologize for my actions at the recent fan signing event.

At the time, I should have been more careful and thoughtful in my judgment and behavior, but I failed to do so. I take very seriously the fact that my actions caused confusion and hurt to many people. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt or troubled because of my shortcomings.

Even though I have always cherished the support and affection that fans give me, I am sorry that I was unable to live up to those feelings. I will not take this incident lightly and will genuinely reflect on my actions.

I would also like to apologize once again to all the ZEROSEs who supported and believed in me throughout this album promotion, only to be disappointed by me. In addition, I want to apologize to my fellow ZEROBASEONE members and the staff members who work hard alongside us.

From now on, I will be more careful in my actions and sincerely reflect and grow so that I can become someone who is worthy of the trust that ZEROSEs place in me.

Once again, I am truly sorry.

In response, fans offered their hopes that he would learn from the incident in the future, while pushing back against those leaving malicious comments.
