Popular Singer Retracts Apology For Alleged Sexual Harassment
A popular indie vocalist who was previously embroiled in allegations of sexual harassment recently posted a statement retracting his previous apology.
The singer in question is Nah Sang Hyun from the indie rock band Mr. Nah Band.

On August 1, Nah made a post on his blog, writing that he wanted to convey his sincere feelings to his fans in writing. He addressed the allegations made against him in May that he had sexually harassed someone and touched the thighs of a woman next to him while pretending to be drunk at a gathering.
Initially, the accusation was dismissed due to a lack of evidence, but as Nah posted a public apology, public opinion tilted toward the possibility of the accusations being true. About a week later, on June 2, Nah corrected his statement through his agency, saying that he made the apology out of his moral responsibility before even confirming the facts thoroughly, and proceeded to deny all the allegations.

In the new post made on August 1, he reiterated the denial of the accusations and explained why he had apologized in the first place.
Following the initial post of the allegations, the statement I personally wrote, and the subsequent official statement from my agency and the announcement of the performance resumption— I imagine many of you must have felt confused. When I first saw the allegations, they were clearly not in line with what I know to be true. However, I was overwhelmed by the situation growing rapidly and felt anxious about whether there might have been something I was unaware of. Believing that in matters like this, it’s important to listen closely to the voice of the accuser, I thought the most appropriate response at the time—before verifying the facts—was to take a stance of apology.

He continued, elaborating on why he eventually denied the accusations, negating his initial apology.
Later, after carefully reviewing the past events with my agency and thoroughly checking the truth of the matter, we concluded that the allegations were not true. However, by then, many people had already accepted the claims as fact, and I was afraid that speaking out prematurely might lead to further misunderstandings and criticism. I deeply apologize for the long silence and to those who were hurt during that time.

Finally, he apologized for her “inadequate response” and hoped “things will gradually get better.”
There were moments when I felt like I would never be able to face the public again. I struggled with whether it was right to continue confining myself over something I didn’t do. Resuming activities is emotionally difficult for me as well, but I believed it was wrong to let misunderstandings become accepted truth and for everything to end that way. Thinking of the pain I caused and the support I had received until now, I came to the conclusion that I must face you all once again. It may take time for everyone, including myself, to return to how things once were, but I will do my best with the hope that things will gradually get better.
I sincerely apologize for the confusion and hurt caused by my inadequate response, and I truly hope that one day we can meet again with warm hearts.
