“Produce 101 Season 2” Contestant And Theater Actor Jeong Joong Ji Has Passed Away By Suicide

Theater actor Jeong Joong Ji, who also competed in Produce 101 Season 2, has passed away by suicide. A Twitter account revealing that they were Jeong Joong Ji’s mother made a post on September 20, stating that her son has passed away by suicide back on September 9. She attached a picture of his funeral and herself with his picture at the funeral.

Wikitree has also stated that Joong Ji’s younger sister posted about her brother’s passing, but has since made her Instagram account private.
Jeong Joong Gi was best known for his appearance on Produce 101 Season 2, where he finished at 64th place. Following his appearance in Produce 101 Season 2, Jeong Joong Ji appeared as an actor in the theater performance, Prison and Essence of Love. He also won the Hallyu Star Award for actors at the 2017 Hallyu Selection Organizing Committee Awards and held his first fan meeting in 2018.
