TvN‘s latest hit, K-Drama Queen of Tears, starring lead actors Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, recently reached an all-time high viewer rating of 9.5% in Korea.

The queen of department stores and the prince of supermarkets weather a marital crisis —until love miraculously begins to bloom again.

Queen of Tears was highly anticipated due to not only its all-star cast but also its crew, as writer Park Ji Eun is also the mastermind behind the beloved K-Drama Crash Landing on You. Queen of Tears’ directors Jang Young Woo and Kim Hee Won previously worked on Crash Landing on You as well.

Kim Soo Hyun, who appeared in Park Ji Eun’s hit K-Dramas, My Love From the Star and The Producers, made a cameo appearance in Crash Landing on You, reprising his role from the 2013 film action comedy-drama Secretly, Greatly. While Park didn’t write this role, Kim did guest on Crash Landing on You due to his longstanding relationship with the writer.

Remembering this iconic cameo, K-Drama fans are hoping that the Crash Landing on You couple, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, would make a cameo appearance in Queen of Tears. While they didn’t cameo quite as fans hoped so far, the couple did receive a shoutout in a recent episode.

When we first met Baek Hyun Woo, he wanted to divorce his wife, Hong Hae In, but when she informed him she only had three months to live, he decided to hold off. Instead, he would be a devoting husband so much that she would change her will to include him. In the process of caring for her, he doesn’t realize he is falling in love with her again. On the other hand, Hyun Woo’s friend, Kim Yang Ki (Moon Tae Yu), has become suspicious that this is the case.

So, in Episode 4, when Hyun Woo confessed he had bought his wife new comfortable shoes, Yang Ki likened the situation to that of actors who fall in love with each other in real life. Yang Ki mentioned Crash Landing on You stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, who famously married each other in real life after filming the K-Drama together. The two now even have a child together.
