“Red Velvet’s Future?” Yeri’s Comments After Leaving SM Entertainment Spark Heated Debate
Red Velvet‘s Yeri recently opened up in an interview about her next chapter as an actress, following her departure from SM Entertainment earlier this year.

Naturally, questions about Red Velvet’s future as a group came up — especially now that she and Wendy are no longer under the same label as Irene, Seulgi, and Joy, who have chosen to renew their contracts with SM.

When asked whether full group promotions were still on the table, Yeri gave a hopeful yet realistic response.

Interviewer: Are there any plans for full group Red Velvet promotions in the future?
Yeri: “Of course, if our schedules line up, we should definitely do it. The fans are waiting, so music promotions are always an option. But it’s a bit different now in terms of when we do it.
Back when we were at SM, everything was already planned out through consulting, so we just had to show up and do it. Now, there’s no set timeline. Still, getting together is always great, no matter when we meet, we’re always laughing, and it just feels really good.”
While her answer was meant to reassure fans, it quickly stirred a mix of emotions online. Some fans took the comments as a sign that a comeback may not happen anytime soon, drawing comparisons to Girls’ Generation, who went on a long hiatus after some members left SM.

Others pushed back against the negativity, arguing that Yeri’s words actually showed her clear intention to reunite with the members when possible.
It would be a mistake to expect a comeback this year. The members are working on what they want this year. It's always best to wait next year. YERI and the members are knows of the fans' thoughts. They will make a new comeback as soon as their schedules align. Trust RV.

While there may not be a fixed timeline right now, Yeri’s words show that the bond between the members is as strong as ever. With all five still eager to reunite when the time is right, many are choosing to stay positive and trust that Red Velvet’s story as a group is far from over.
