Remembering Goo Hara On The 6th Anniversary Of Her Death
KARA member the late Goo Hara passed away six years ago today (the 24th).
Goo Hara was found dead at her home in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on November 24, 2019. She was 28 years old.
She debuted as a member of the group KARA in 2008, gaining love with many hit songs such as “Honey,” “Pretty Girl,” “Mister,” “Lupin,” and “Mamma Mia.”
She also worked as an actress, appearing in productions like City Hunter and Sound Of A Footstep.
However, she suffered from abuse and threats by her ex-boyfriend during her lifetime, and after her death, there were disputes over her inheritance. Her older brother, Goo Ho In, filed a lawsuit in 2020 demanding a division of inheritance against their biological mother, who had neglected her duty of care.
Subsequently, in August 2024, the National Assembly passed the “Goo Hara Act,” a bill mainly adding a clause to current civil law addressing those who significantly neglect the duty of protection and support toward direct ascendants or descendants.
May Goo Hara rest in peace.
