Reveluvs Start Petition Against SBS After Red Velvet Wendy’s Accident

They demand for justice, and they also hope to prevent an accident like this happening again.

Reveluvs have begun a petition against SBS after Red Velvet Wendy‘s accident.

On December 25, Wendy suffered a 2.5 meter fall from a high stage during rehearsals for the 2019 SBS Gayo Daejun. Wendy was supposed to have walked through a tunnel (that is also reported to have been dark and cramped), and there were no stage markers either that indicated where to stop, and so she fell from the platform as there were also no stairs where they should have been.

It was also revealed that in that fall, she suffered fractures in her right pelvic bone, her wrist and her right cheekbones.

 

After receiving emergency treatment at a hospital, SM Entertainment released a statement saying that Wendy will be focusing on treatment and recovering her health, while the other remaining members of Red Velvet will be continuing their individual schedules at the year-end music festivals.

Fans have been furious at SBS for their negligence, and after details of Wendy’s accident were released, have been demanding an apology from SBS. Other artists have also experienced a few mishaps, such as MAMAMOO‘s Solar who slipped on at the red carpet due to the steps having no marking tape, and BTS‘s Jin who almost slipped on stage due to its unsteady nature.

 

Reveluvs soon begun a Blue House petition to ensure that Wendy gets justice, and that this does not happen to other artists in the future.

 

The petition reads:

Hello, this is Red Velvet’s fandom, Reveluv.

The purpose of writing this is because of an incident. At 4 PM on December 25, 2019, Red Velvet’s Wendy suffered an accident during the stage rehearsal at the 2019 SBS Gayo Daejun. Red Velvet’s Wendy is currently receiving treatment at the hospital for facial injuries and fractures of the right pelvis and wrist.

When Red Velvet Wendy’s crash occurred, there were several SNS’s that said; “Various other artists were also wary and worried about the lift”

“It didn’t rise properly, and fell right away.”

The SBS team said; “On the 25th, during pre-rehearsal of the SBS Gayo Daejun, Red Velvet’s Wendy suffered injuries. We hope for Wendy’s speedy recovery, and SBS will pay special attention to the safety management in the future”.

SBS Gayo Daejun say they don’t know why the accident happened, despite being the organizers.
