RIIZE Blasted For Excessive Lip Syncing At “KCON 2025”
A viral post on Pann is drawing attention for calling out RIIZE’s KCON 2025 performance. The SM Entertainment boy group is facing accusations of lip-syncing too much during their recent set at the festival in LA.

At the event, RIIZE performed “Bad Bad Back,” “Boom Boom Bass,” and “Fly Up.” Their set had plenty of energy, and the crowd seemed to love their performance at the time, based on the loud cheers. But once live clips hit the internet, backlash followed from Korean netizens.

Netizens are now claiming that most of the set wasn’t live. Aside from a few parts sung over the AR (All Recorded) track, the Pann post says the group relied heavily on lip syncing.
How long is RIIZE going to keep lip syncing?
BOYNEXTDOOR absolutely killed it live at Lollapalooza, but RIIZE went all the way to KCON in the U.S. and still lip synced. LOL. Aside from a few short moments where they sang over the AR, the rest was all lip sync… Honestly disappointing.

Korean netizens didn’t hold back in the comment section of the post either. While some did defend the group, others blamed SM Entertainment’s practice of making their idols lip sync at festivals regardless of their skill level. Considering that SM idols are deemed to be the best vocalists in the industry, many are often left disappointed.

- “Lip syncing all the way to the US is seriously lame… If you watch the on-site videos, it’s just AR playing the whole time. I got secondhand embarrassment.”
- “Forever. According to some, SM makes their idols practice lip syncing regardless of skill level. They’re always going on about how SM idols are the most talented, which makes it even funnier.”
- “Everyone who saw them live praised them, but the people sitting at home are the ones criticizing. Saying it was lip-synced when RIIZE sang everything live, maybe get your ears checked.”
- “It’s not like they have a ‘skilled performer’ image anyway, lol.”
- “Can’t you guys just ignore this? It’s obviously someone trying to stir the pot.”
