Rookie Male Idol Sustains Rib Fracture During Practice

A fifth-generation boy group member has reportedly sustained a rib injury during practice.

The idol in question is Taeyang, from the rookie boy group NEWBEAT.

The group’s agency, Beat Interactive, put out a press release on May 21, KST, informing fans that Taeyang was taken to the hospital after experiencing some chest pain during practice and was diagnosed with a minor rib fracture.

While medical professionals advised Taeyang to minimize any strenuous movement until he heals, the idol still insisted on participating in all scheduled promotional activities, including the opening of the Chungang University Festival on May 21. The agency stated that he will remain seated during performances in order to protect his health.

Beat Interactive concluded the statement, saying that future schedules might have to be adjusted depending on the medical team’s advice and Taeyang’s condition.
