Students In Korea Protest For Palestine

Seoul National University students held a sit-in.

Korean students are protesting for Palestine.

Since October 2023, over 34,735 Palestinians, many of whom are innocent women and children, have been killed due to Israel’s attacks in the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. At least 78,108 Palestinians have been injured, and many are struggling to survive as they have been displaced, starved, and lost family, friends, and homes.


People around the world are speaking up in solidarity with Palestine, calling for a ceasefire. Many are asking for companies, organizations, etc., to divest from Israel. Recently, Seoul National University students hosted a sit-in for Palestine.

Seoul National University actually has a partnership with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. So, the university is connected to Israel.

Korean students have been organizing weekly protests in Korea. @ws.youthstu on Instagram often shares content related to the demonstrations and updates concerning Palestine for Koreans. Protests have occurred throughout Korea and at other universities, such as Yonsei University.

Pro-Palestine protests have been occurring in Korea since 2023.
