The poster caused a huge outcry as netizens rebuked Seungri for participating so unabashedly in an event named after his scandal that rocked the K-Pop industry a few years ago and landed him in prison. Seungri Directly Responds To Being Special Guest For “Burning Sun” Club Event

With the controversy still bubbling, Gentlemens Club, which planned the event, posted a video on its social media, apologizing to K-Pop fans and Seungri. The club claimed that their event poster was “misunderstood,” adding that they never mentioned anywhere about Seungri’s presence at the event.

The ‘Burning Sun Surabaya’ on the poster was intended to convey a message about staying safe at the club and parties, and the message, ‘A New Chapter Is Born,’ was included to remind everyone that what happened at Burning Sun could happen anywhere, anytime.

Seungri, on the other hand, reportedly plans to take legal actions against the club. He told Ilgan Sports that the club had not sent him any formal apology for using his name and portrait for their event.

The club’s statement was not an apology for using my name and photo but rather for potentially causing problems in the local nightlife scene.
