Sex Crime Suspect Jumps Off Police Station’s Fourth Floor To His Death

A man in his 20s, who was under investigation for a sex crime, tragically died after jumping from the fourth floor of a police station in Seoul. The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 1 at the Gwanak Police Station.

According to authorities, the suspect (identified only as “A” so far) was arrested earlier that day on suspicion of committing a sexual offense. As his questioning was about to begin, “A” requested to smoke a cigarette. He was escorted to the fourth floor of the station by an investigator, but in a sudden and unexpected move, A reportedly pushed the officer aside and leaped from the terrace.

A was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital following the fall but was later pronounced dead. The police have since initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident. They are currently reviewing footage from security cameras at the station to gather more information.

Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the suspect’s background or the specifics of the charges he was facing.
