SF9’s Rowoon Shows His 8KG (17.6 lbs) Weight Loss For His New K-Drama “Destined With You”

On August 23, 2023, SF9’s Rowoon attended a press conference for his new drama, Destined With You. During the press conference, he shared that he had lost a whopping 8kg (17.6 lbs) for the role.

As he was never chubby to begin with, many were shocked at Rowoon’s dedication to the role. He shared why he made the move. As the drama was based on a webtoon, he felt the need to appear as “webtoon-like” as possible.

As this character has a familial history [of illness], I lost around 8kg. That’s why I came out looking a little bit more handsome. I’m also so thankful that it made me look a little more like a manhwa.

Destined With You is about a lawyer, Jang Shin Yoo (played by Rowoon) and a civil servant Lee Hong Jo (played by Jo Bo Ah). Shin Yoo suffers from a curse that has been passed down in his family for generations. The curse causes him to be sick for unknown reasons. He meets Lee Hong Jo who holds the key to the cure. Lee Hong Jo is a low-ranking official at the Department of Greenery. She handles citizens’ complaints. One day, she becomes the owner of an ancient book, Mokham, which has been cursed and sealed for 300 years.
