Shawols Celebrate As Onew Joins SHINee’s Concerts

In June 2023, SHINee leader Onew announced his temporary hiatus due to health concerns. He could not participate in promotional activities for the group’s studio album HARD, including the group’s anticipated 3-day concert.

Hello, this is SM Entertainment. First, we would like to thank the fans who love and support SHINee. We would like to inform you about the health condition of Onew and his participation in future events.

In celebration of SHINee’s 15th anniversary, the group held a fan meeting in May and has been preparing for a June concert as soon as they finished working on the eighth album’s release.

Recently, Onew visited the hospital after experiencing health issues and has since received a medical examination and consultation. It has been advised he will need medical care and rest. After careful discussion with the group, they have decided to have Onew focus on recovering for the time being as he will be unable to participate in the upcoming activities.

Therefore, the upcoming concert and album activities will proceed with Key, Minho, and Taemin. We will do our best to assist Onew so he can meet fans again in good health. We will inform you as soon he is recovered and can return to the stage.

We understand that SHINee’s promotional activities have been long-awaited by the members, fans, and the company. We would like to emphasize that this decision was made to ensure that the group may continue activities in good health for a long time. We apologize for causing concern to the fans and ask for your understanding.

The three members are putting their greatest effort into showing only the best, and we kindly ask for your support and love for SHINee’s June concert and an eighth full-length album. Thank you.

In April of this year, Onew made his much-anticipated return. He signed with a new agency, GRIFFIN Entertainment, as their first artist. He and the agency shared new photos.

A couple of weeks later, Onew made his first public appearance since his hiatus. He attended the Mediacorp Entertainment‘s Star Awards 2024. Fans were excited to see him again, as he looked better than ever!

In May, Onew held his solo fanmeeting, ONEW FANMEETING 2024 IN JAPAN <GUESS!>追加公演決定.

Now, Onew has made his comeback with SHINee!

Recently, SHINee WORLD Ⅵ [PERFECT ILLUMINATION : SHINee’S BACK] was announced with three days of performances, May 24-26, at Inspire Arena. Ahead of Day 1, SHINee teased with their group photo, including Onew, since his hiatus, showing the members at rehearsal.

On May 24, the group performed to an excited crowd of Shawols. They were happy to hear Onew’s voice again on classic hits, such as “Dream Girl.”

Yet, there were some songs that we saw Onew perform with SHINee for the first time. Shawols have been dreaming of the day they would see Onew perform “Body Rhythm!”

Shawols couldn’t be happier to have Onew back!

Still, no one could rival the SHINee members’ happiness. They finally have their leader back!

We look forward to seeing what new memories are made with SHINee in the next two performances!
