Somi Pays Adorable Tribute To BLACKPINK’s Jennie In “XOXO”
Star soloist Somi proved her adorable bond with labelmate BLACKPINK‘s Jennie once again with a cute tribute in her new song, “XOXO.”
Since Somi left JYP Entertainment to join YG Entertainment subsidiary THE BLACK LABEL, she’s had the cutest friendship with the BLACKPINK members. Over the years, they’ve poured out support to each other on social media, and Jennie made waves a few months ago by showering Somi with support for “DUMB DUMB” during a live broadcast.
Now, Somi’s using her new single “XOXO” to pay tribute to her beloved unnie Jennie. Since the song dropped earlier today, fans haven’t stopped praising Somi’s visuals and talents as well as the cool music video concept.
But one part of the song and music video in particular caught fans’ attention—the line where Somi sings, “bichi naneun solo.”
Sound familiar? It’s the iconic chorus line from Jennie’s 2018 solo debut track, “SOLO”—and Somi even threw the same choreography move in for good measure!
This isn’t the first time Somi has shown her love for “SOLO.” Back in summer 2019, fans actually dubbed her “Jennie’s daughter” after she aced a cover dance of the song on Idol Room.

She went on to mash up “SOLO” with her own song “DUMB DUMB” on popular tvN show Comedy Big League a few months ago.

After enjoying the cute Jennie-Somi “crumbs” in “XOXO,” Sommungchis and BLINKs are hoping it won’t be long until these two get together in person again.
