“Squid Game” Actress Jung Ho Yeon Couldn’t Stop Fangirling About When She Met Andrew Garfield, And The Feeling Was Mutual
Since the hit Netflix series Squid Game first aired last year, it seems like even in 2022, people can’t stop talking about the show. It was their first taste of the industry for those unfamiliar with K-Dramas for many. Almost overnight, the cast of the show found themselves gaining unprecedented fame and popularity.
One of those who went from being relatively unknown to a global superstar overnight was Jung Ho Yeon, who played Kang Sae Byeok in the series.
Of course, with this rising fame and popularity, everyone wants a taste of the cast, and that includes celebrities. The cast has been jetting off to America since the show’s success to attend events and mingle with A-Listers. Yet, although the cast always shares their excitement meeting these celebrities, the feeling is mutual.
The cast recently attended the AFI Luncheon in America, and it was a star-studded event with some of the biggest names in the industry. Yet, one interaction stood out as Jung Ho Yeon met none other than English actor Andrew Garfield.

During the event, Jung Ho Yeon met the actor and actress Margeret Qualley. Netizens couldn’t get over the interactions alongside co-star Lee Jung Jae. Not only did they all look very excited in the photo, but, as the picture was being taken, someone took a video of what happened, and it all seemed like #goals.
When the pictures were shared on social media, netizens couldn’t get over how the world of K-Dramas and Hollywood movies collided, especially for Spiderman fans!
Yet, although Jung Ho Yeon and Andrew Garfield are probably two of the biggest stars, it seems like they were both fans of each other. After the two met, Jung Ho Yeon and the rest of the Squid Game cast recently attended the Critics Choice Awards. As expected, they all looked amazing as they took to the red carpet.
In particular, during the event, the cast spoke with Variety. Jung Ho Yeon spilled about her experiences meeting Andrew Garfield. Jung Ho Yeon couldn’t stop gushing over the interaction when asked what it was like.
It was amazing. I watched Tick Tick Boom recently, and it was amazing. His performance was *hand gestures* and then he was there.

Yet, as starstruck as Jung Ho Yeon seemed to be, the actress’s next words seemed to prove that Andrew Garfield was just as excited as their meeting turned into a compliment session.
Then we were sharing, ‘Oh, your show is great.’ ‘Your show is great,’ like that kind of moment. So, it was very…

Unfortunately, the interview cut off, but it was clear to see how excited Jung Ho Yeon was talking about meeting Andrew Garfield. Hopefully, it won’t be the last time the duo interact, and fans can see more of the stars in the future. Who knows, maybe they might even be cast in the same project soon.
