Stray Kids’ Bang Chan Opens Up About His Embarrassing Snorkeling Experience, And He Couldn’t Be More Endearing

Fans can’t get over how cute his story was.

Stray KidsBang Chan has never shied away from being open with his fans about everything from what made him almost want to quit being a trainee to how much he loves playing Pokémon GO.

In a recent TikTok live, which the idol has started to do sporadically in addition to his weekly Chan’s Room broadcasts, Bang Chan talked about visiting his old school in Australia.

I got to see the teachers that used to teach me. That was so fun.

And the idol also opened up about a memory from his school days when he went snorkeling. For no particular reason, the idol admitted that he’d suddenly had the impulse to scream while underwater.

For some stupid reason, I thought, ‘Okay, why not scream?‘ Because I would think, you know, I’m inside the water, so if I screamed, then no one could probably hear it because it’s inside the water.

But Bang Chan didn’t think about how because he was using a snorkel, the sound would reach everyone else.

But I was not able to think about the fact that the snorkel was out of the water. So even if I screamed, it would be screaming inside the snorkel, right? And it wasn’t a normal ‘AHH!‘ kind of scream. It was a high-pitched ‘Ahhh!‘ kind of scream because I was a kid back then.

His parents were also around when this happened since they ran a club that helped teach children how to swim.

Back then, because my dad was in charge of the swimming club, mum would be managing the club. I mean, the pool is not ours, but I guess we borrow the pool in order for us to run the swimming club business.

So when Bang Chan impulsively decided to scream, absolutely everyone who was around heard it.

Dad was doing his class, mom was managing stuff, and then all of the sudden, I screamed inside the water, thinking that no one could hear me, and then as soon as I got out of the water. No, not got out of the water, as soon as I raised my head, everyone, everyone inside the pool, everyone was looking at me. And I was like, ‘Why is everyone looking at me? Why is everyone looking at me?

Even this many years later, Bang Chan couldn’t hide his amusement and embarrassment in telling the story, which fans found all too relatable and funny.
