Street Man Fighter’s Young J Accused Of Evading Military Service
Street Man Fighter dancer Young J is once again at the center of a controversy, this time over alleged draft dodging.
On April 26. KST media outlet Tenasia reported that Young J, who was born in 1992, has not fulfilled his mandatory military service yet. He received his first military service examination in 2011, and he was evaluated to be grade 3 due to ankle joint abnormalities.
According to enlistment evaluation rules, if an individual’s ankle is angled at more than 18 degrees, they are considered eligible for exemption from military service and can work as social workers. But Young J’s ankle was between 16 and 17 degrees.
The dancer later announced his enlistment news twice, in 2018 and 2020. He wrote posts on his thanking people for “visiting” him, even though he never really joined the military.
During the second half of 2020, he received a psychological check-up and was diagnosed with conversion disorder and panic disorder. He was prescribed medication in the first quarter of 2021 while visiting a hospital for a month after avoiding enlistment. However, he stopped visiting the hospital in March 2021, according to reports.
In the military service examination, Young J received level 4 in mental illness and has not been assigned a place to serve for almost three years. Since the current military service law stipulates that people with level 4 physical examination receive the exemption if they have not been assigned for more than three years, Young J will be exempted in July if he is still not assigned.
The dancer has not responded to the accusations yet. Meanwhile, he was previously accused of having inappropriate sexual relations with an underage dancer from Street Girls Fighter 2. You can read more about it here.
