During the concert, Wonyoung casually mentioned on stage that she wanted to try the Watermelon Oolong Tea from Chun Shui Tang, a popular Taiwanese milk tea brand.

It only took a few hours for the beverage to be completely sold out nationwide as fans rushed to stores, buying up all the stock. Multiple shops were seen putting up signs informing consumers that they had run out of the Watermelon Oolong Tea.

Some Taiwanese fans also shared that store clerks were aware that the beverage was selling out because of Wonyoung, and turned down interested buyers, apologizing, saying that they had run out of the drink because of “the Wonyoung effect.”

The phenomenon was also covered by the Taiwanese media.
