THE BOYZ’s Kevin has recently been embroiled in a controversy. On April 19, Eric and Kevin were chosen for the ceremonial first pitch and hit respectively, for the KT Wiz and Kiwoom Heroes game at the Gocheok Sky Dome.

They received applause from the fans from both teams after performing an amazing pitch and hit while wearing the home team Kiwoom Heroes uniform.

However, controversy started after a netizen, also a THE BOYZ fan, posted a photo of Kevin at the stadium, showing support for the another team.

Kevin held up his phone notes page that read, “I hope the day comes when the national anthem is sung in Gwangju, the hometown of the Kia Tigers.”

The netizen also revealed that they told Kevin they couldn’t read the text, so he made the text bigger and showed it to them.

This caused much discomfort among baseball fans, as it was seen as inappropriate to show support for another team while wearing the home team’s uniform during a game.

In addition, the first pitch and first hit are events to cheer for the home team’s victory, so those who participate in the event usually cheer for the home team. With this, many are criticizing the member for supporting another team while being invited to the game by the home team.

A Kiwoom Heroes fan also stated, “If this is the case, why did you come to Kiwoom’s first pitch and not KIA’s?”

Netizens were also disappointed in his actions.
