Third Generation Idol Surprises Fans With A Tongue “Tattoo”
The public’s attitude toward tattoos in South Korea has only started to get tolerant. Up until a few years ago, public figures like idols or actors getting tattoos was an infrequent affair since it could damage their image. Even to this day, celebrities are required to cover up their tattoos for certain types of public appearances, including music show broadcasts.
But former AOA member turned soloist Shin Jimin has been vocal about her love for tattoos for a really long time. Back in 2019, during an interview with Allure Korea, she revealed the different designs on her body and talked about their meanings. Back then, she had more than 20 tattoos on her body, a number which seems to have grown since then.
Some of her most notable tattoos, as pointed out by the idol herself, include two designs that were made through the traditional poking method.
Another noticeable design rests on her upper arm. It is a stuffed rabbit that she had as a child and remembers fondly as being her comfort toy.
But in her latest Instagram post, Jimin revealed a new tattoo that took aback fans, to say the least. On June 6, KST, she posted a series of pictures showing off an edgy look with her exposed arm tattoos, complimented by decorative gem stickers on her face.
In one of the pictures, the rapper posed with another friend, the two sticking out their tongues playfully. Surprisingly, both of them appeared to have tattoo-like designs on their tongues. While Jimin sported a cute star-shaped design on her tongue, the friend had a lettering design that read: “I♡you.”
Though the designs were convincingly vibrant, it seems like they were temporary. In another picture from the same post, there is no longer any design on Jimin’s tongue, but it appears to have a darker color, probably from the dissolved ink of the temporary design.
Whether permanent or not, fans couldn’t help but admire the way she rocked all the tattoos on her body!
