Top K-Drama Actress Caught Up In Ilegal AI Film Controversy

An AI-generated film claiming to have obtained portrait rights from a famous actress has sparked controversy for its “eerily hyper-realistic” depiction, only for the actress’s side to strongly deny any involvement.

The actress in question is Yeom Hye Ran. According to reports, the video was introduced under the premise that it had received permission to use Yeom’s likeness. However, both the actress and her agency stated they were completely unaware of the video’s existence, expressing shock and discomfort.

Her agency, ACE FACTORY, confirmed in a phone interview with Sports DongA that claims of having secured her portrait rights were “completely false” and announced plans to request the immediate removal of the content.

Following the agency’s swift response, the controversial AI video, reportedly titled Inspector, has since been set to private.

The agency emphasized that it takes the situation seriously, not only due to the unauthorized use of her likeness but also because of false promotional claims suggesting her consent. They also hinted at potential legal action moving forward.
