[★TRENDING] Toy (Yoo Hee Yeol) tops music charts with “Three People”

Yoo Hee Yeol‘s one-man project Toy has been sweeping the number one spot on music charts with “Three People,” the title track from his newest album Da Capo

On November 18th, Yoo Hee Yeol released his long-awaited 7th album Da Capo under his former duet group name, Toy. On the date of its release, the album’s title track “Three People” topped nine charts including Mnet, MelOn, Bugs, Daum Music, and Naver Music.

In light of the song’s recent success, Yoo Hee Yeol has revealed the time and effort that went into making the album, from writing the lyrics to carefully arranging the album track list. He commented, “There are no stories in song lyrics these days. ‘Three People”s lyrics are written like a drama synopsis from the beginning to the end.” The lyrics to “Three People,” sung by Sung Si Kyung, contain the sad story of a man who must congratulate his two friends on their wedding, one of whom is the woman he loves.

Yoo Hee Yeol expressed his gratitude towards Sung Si Kyung: “The song was difficult,” he stated. “Sung Si Kyung had trouble recording on his first try, and decided to quit smoking for the sake of this song. After ten days of quitting, he came back and successfully finished the recording.

The success of “Three People” has left many people anticipating the remaining tracks of Da Capo, which feature some of Korea’s most talented vocals, including Lee Juck, Kim Dong Ryul, Dynamic Duo, Akdong Musician‘s Suhyun and Kwon Jin Ah.
