Rookie Idol Completely Changes Her Hair Color After Teammates Make Fun Of Her

The general rule of thumb is to wash dyed hair with cold water because hot water will drain the color. K-Pop idols, of all people, know this well, given how often they dye their hair. But tripleS‘s Kim Nakyoung knew what she was doing when she “basically broiled” her coral-colored hair, just one day after getting it done.

During Mnet‘s M Countdown aired on May 15, 2025 (KST), Nakyoung had bright orange hair:

But on May 16, at KBS‘s Music Bank, the idol was spotted with blonde hair:

When fans questioned the quick change, Nakyoung revealed via their fan messaging platform that she drained the color on purpose…

Yes, it was coral. But the color wasn’t sitting right with me, so I took a hot shower. I basically broiled my hair. That kind of drained the dye.

Both colors look great on Nakyoung, of course. And it is unlikely that Yoon Seoyeon and Jeong Hayeon meant harm. But lamenting the idol’s short-lived coral era, fans took it as an opportunity to discuss how commenting on other people’s looks can have such a significant impact.
