Trisha Paytas began her career in Los Angeles, attempting to break into the acting scene before opening her YouTube channel in 2007. From there, her various appearances helped to establish her popularity, allowing her to make her music debut and create more content.

On May 18, Paytash released “S사랑해 Saranghae (I Love You)” officially debuting as a K-Pop artist.

The video quickly became a viral sensation, as netizens took in the track.

Surprisingly, the song’s performance has attracted attention online.

As the song continued to rise in rank, Paytas shared updates on her Instagram account, first sharing excitement that the song was ranked 45.

Many commenters marveled at her outranking other K-Pop artists, including BTS who were shown in the chart twice, though some of these comments were more worded as hate.

Some have seen the “like” as “shade” towards the group, sparking criticism towards Paytas, including her Zionism and past racism towards Asians.

As of writing, the track has hit #2 on U.S iTunes “Top K-Pop” chart, only outranked by “Golden” from K-Pop Demon Hunters. Paytas posted this on her Instagram account, where she promised more music in Korean.
