TWICE Cancels Their First Date For The Offline Concert Due to Heightened Social Distancing Measures

The other two dates will proceed.

Girl group TWICE was originally scheduled for their 4th World Tour, with their first venue being in Seoul. It would have been their first offline concert in 2 years due to the pandemic. The first date of their concert in Seoul was scheduled for December 24, 2021 but due to the strengthened social distancing measures, it was canceled on December 17, 2021.

Fans were devastated at the cancelation that came just a week shy of the concert. JYP Entertainment released the news through an official notice on December 17, 2021. While the first date was canceled due to the late timing, the other two days will proceed without a hitch.

Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

Due to the COVID-19 virus that has been continuing to spread, following the increased social distancing measures, the offline concert for TWICE 4th World Tour ‘III’ on December 24, 2021, has been canceled.

We had been preparing for the concert in accordance with the social distancing and preventative measures as decreed by the respective departments, for the safety of the audience and our artists. However, due to the strengthened measures where there are time restrictions placed on the venue hours, we have had to cancel the concert on December 24, 2021. The offline concerts dated December 25 and 26 as well as the Beyond Live online concert on December 26 will proceed.

South Korea has ramped up their social distancing measures and all events and restaurants can only operate until 9pm as from December 18, 2021. As TWICE’s concert on December 24 was slated for 7.30pm, it was unlikely that the set could conclude in one and a half hours. The other dates start at 5 and 6pm respectively.
