5th Generation Rookie Boy Group Overtakes IU On Music Charts
IU‘s hit song “Love Wins All” has been on the top of the Korean charts for weeks. No song has been able to top it since it was released on January 24, 2024.
In a shining moment of surprise, a 5th generation boy group overtook IU for a brief moment on the Melon Hot 100 Charts. Although they were unable to sustain the momentum, TWS‘s “First meeting doesn’t go as planned” took over “Love Wins All” for a brief 5 minutes at 10.05pm KST on February 14, 2024.
By the graph you can see that TWS’s song “(green dotted) was significantly under IU’s (light blue dotted) until the 10.05pm mark. The rankings were reversed once more by the next five minutes. Even so, the achievement is a huge one for a rookie group! The Top 100 charts on Melon are extremely significant as it is largely controlled by the public’s choice, after the streaming giant put in measures to separate public streaming from fandom streaming.
