Amid recent promotions, Taehyun made an appearance where he sat down and chatted about a lot of things regarding the group.

During the video, Taehyun spoke about how he had been at the company since 2016, before they became HYBE.

The idol then shared that they practiced mainly hip-hop and R&B, adding, “The company is based on Black music.”

A screenshot of the interview is going viral, with over 55,000 likes and a lot of comments.

Within the post, there were some hidden replies and malicious comments accusing Taehyun of doing the “bare minimum,” seemingly saying that it didn’t deserve the praise.

Yet, netizens defended the idol, explaining that with everything happening in K-Pop, Taehyun has done more to acknowledge the culture they are influenced by and appreciate it rather than other artists who “appropriate” it. They added that if it was the bare minimum, why weren’t more idols doing it.
