“Tying Up And Manhandling Women”— HYBE Idol Faces Scathing Criticism Over Controversial Stage Performance
SEVENTEEN member Hoshi has once again found himself amid an unexpected controversy over a clip of his solo stage performance.

The clip, originally from 2016, recently resurfaced on X (formerly Twitter). It showed Hoshi performing a solo song, “Can’t Go Anywhere,” during an encore concert. The performance featured him dancing around a woman tied to a chair.
Do y’all remember when Hoshi from Seventeen used abuse as a concept and misteated a girl on stage? https://t.co/W1zBhOeshH pic.twitter.com/4XWOXopanw

The song itself talks about an abusive relationship. One of the verses, as documented by fan blogs, goes, “Even if you say I’m not your boyfriend,/ Even if you say you’re not my girlfriend/ You can’t go anywhere because you’re mine/ You can’t go anywhere because I’m Hoshi.”
Both the visual and lyrical presentation of the song have sparked a major uproar on social media. It was further amplified when netizens came across claims that in one of the performances, the woman on stage with Hoshi was PRISTIN member Yehana (real name Kim Yewon), who was just 16 at the time. Notably, Hoshi was around 20 years old at the time.

However, fans defended the idol, pointing out that it was a well-rehearsed, supervised performance that obviously involved the prior consent of all performers.
You should at least know what you're posting about.
It's a PERFORMANCE of a song that deals precisely with an abusive relationship, there are no flowers or rainbows, it is what it is, and what they are trying to show you.
Furthermore, it's clearly consensual for both artists. https://t.co/DWZBmkoVWJ— Ava ~×~ (@CaratlandsStay) February 7, 2026
I really don't expect common sense from armys but even i didn’t see this coming 😭😭 apologize for a performance? That was performed in front of fans?? That was rehearsed and that was consented by both idols involved??? WHAT KIND OF LOSER BEHAVIOUR IS THIS😭 https://t.co/fukK5Gz7AN

The likes to this tweet seems so forceful😂 its pretty clear that its a stage act where the girl had definitely consented for. What do you want to prove??😂
