“Uncle” JYP Goes Viral For His Slick Back Challenge — But His JYP Children Roast Him
Park Jin Young (also known as JYP and J.Y. Park), the founder of JYP Entertainment, recently uploaded a video of him “hopping” on a new challenge.
The Slick Back challenge is a dance trend inspired by the Jubi Slide that looks like the feet are floating while gliding. It’s called the Slick Back challenge due to the use of the song called “A Pimp Named Slickback” by LAKIM.

On November 2, JYP uploaded a video of him doing the Slick Back challenge. He started by slightly warming up, then he started hopping around what appeared to be a rehearsal room, wearing Crocs.
In response, netizens and fans left various comments; some claimed he did well, while others humorously asked “Daddy JYP Oppa” what he was doing. One netizen claimed to be waiting for Stray Kids‘ Seungmin to tease him, as he was known for jokingly “dissing” JYP in the past.
Although Seungmin didn’t tease JYP yet in the comments, other JYP artists of all generations definitely did.
The top comment was by former Wonder Girls member Sunmi. She debuted in JYP Entertainment in 2007, when she was only 14 and stayed in the company until 2017.
Sunmi’s comment read, “He has such silky hair.”
Netizens laughed at her comment, and even TWICE‘s Sana replied with a “LOL.” JYP even responded to her comment by saying, “Thank you for turning the attention to my hair texture, lol,” creating more laughs.
A first-generation JYP Entertainment artist also commented on JYP’s silky hair. Solo artist Rain was an iconic superstar in the early 2000s with hit songs such as “Bad Guy” and “Ways to Avoid the Sun.”
He left a comment saying, “Hyung 🔥 Wow~ Your silky hair❤️.”
While the first and second-generation JYP artists complimented JYP’s hair, the third-generation artists were a bit more ruthless.
TWICE member Jihyo commented on the video with a joke.
She wrote, “Wearing slippers in the rehearsal room is prohibited, PD JYP. Penalty points~!”
Sana also replied to Jihyo’s comment, saying, “🤫🤫🤫.”
Jeongyeon from TWICE also left a comment. She wrote, “I think you need to practice a little more, PD JYP…👏”
The video got over 6.2 million views in 24 hours and has over 7,000 comments as of this article.
