It was initially announced that BLACKPINK would release a new album and embark on a world tour, the latter of which began earlier this summer. The album, however, has not been officially announced, with the single “Jump” being released instead so far.

Now, the recent update about the release has sparked hot reactions.

On August 17, YG Entertainment shared a video relaying updates about the company’s groups, focusing on BABYMONSTER and TREASURE.

However, near the end of the video, Yang Hyun Suk gave updates about BLACKPINK’s upcoming album, which was revealed to be a mini-album.

First, he shared that the album was not completed, remarking that the group was working hard with producers to complete it amidst their world tour. He added that he hoped that BLACKPINK’s album would be “out by November, at the latest.

With the long break in group activities and the time since the release of their last album, many fans were anticipating a full album, rather than a mini. This was reflected in complaints from fans who shared their disappointment with the new update, along with some harsher reactions.

There has not been an official date set for their comeback as of writing.
