Kim Jaejoong‘s comments towards a contestant in a teaser have sparked anger, but not towards him.

A new teaser was posted ahead of the premiere.

In the clip, Jaejoong is seen speaking to the Chinese contestant Anxin, saying that he was “tone deaf,” adding that it would make it hard to be a singer.

Yet, while netizens were angry over the comment, it wasn’t aimed at Jaejoong but Mnet. Netizens pointed out that there was no way Anxin could be described as tone deaf with his experience, and that Mnet was already back to their “evil-editing,” assuming that the clip was taken out of context or spliced together to add “drama.”

Some even added that the idea of it being meant in a bad way was even more impossible due to the fact Jaejoong has revealed in the past that he was tone deaf as a child.

Netizens always take Mnet’s editing with a grain of salt, not trusting anything due to the history of finding ways to create drama or tension in the survival shows.
