On October 18, the group performed in Taiwan, marking the first show in several months, and the group as a whole was hit with criticism over their performance in a video clip.

BLACKPINK Hit With Major Backlash For “Messy” Performance During Recent “DEADLINE” Show

In another video with a focus placed on Jennie, the idol is grabbed by Rosé and moved into position, stumbling and laughing as it happens. Just before it appeared she was looking back at something, which sparked Rosé’s initial movement.

The video of this moment currently has over one million views, as netizens discuss the moment.

Many of the quotes believe Jennie’s “distraction” was because she was looking at the tattooed male back-up dancer. This insinuation that Jennie was less focused on performing because she was looking at a man sparked more criticism of the idol, including outright slut-shaming rather than anything focused on her performance skills.

Many came to the idol’s defense, pointing out that she appeared to be walking to another dancer to hand off her mic, which she did right after Rosé moved her. Other also called out the misogynistic comments for exactly what they were.
