VIXX’s Ravi Personally Apologizes For His Allegedly Sexual Lyrics About Red Velvet

He will also be taking down the song from music sites.

VIXX‘s Ravi has release a statement, personally apologizing for his allegedly sexual lyrics about Red Velvet.

In his statement, he claimed responsibility, mentioned that he personally contacted SM Entertainment to relay his apology, and revealed he will be taking down the song from music streaming platforms.

Hello, this is Ravi.

I would like to talk about the controversy related to a song from my new album ‘ROSES’.

First, I want to sincerely apologize to the members of Red Velvet who were mentioned in the lyrics and to the staff from SM Entertainment. Also, I am sorry to all of my fans who have been watching over me.

I should have apologized earlier, but I’m sorry that my apology is coming late.

I thought a lot about how I should take responsibility for this, and today, I personally called SM Entertainment to apologize to the Red Velvet members and the company. Of course, I feel responsible and sorry for creating this situation in the first place.

I am reflecting on my complacency regarding this situation, not only as Ravi but also as the person in charge of GROOVL1N.

Shamefully, while working on this song, I did not realize that many people would find the lyrics uncomfortable.

This song was meant to express a sweet and bright energy, but I since a specific group was mentioned, it is my responsibility to think about how the artist and their fans will feel as I write my lyrics.

After consulting with the distributor, we have decided to take down the song from music streaming sites. It may take some time, but we will take action on it as soon as possible.

Also, I will continue to think carefully, over and over again, in the future.

Once again, I would like to apologize to all of the people who were disappointed by this incident, and I will continue to work to try and show you a good side of myself, without disappointing you.

— Ravi

Earlier, Ravi made his solo comeback with his album ROSES and the b-side “Red Velvet (feat. JAMIE).” Many Red Velvet fans noticed that the lyrics presented Red Velvet and their members in a sexual way, and demanded an explanation from him.
