Some competed in Produce 101, others were members of 1THE9, and one was even the center of X1. Intrigued? Here’s all you need to know about them.
Daehyeon
23-year-old Daehyeon (full name Jang Dae Hyeon) is WEi’s leader and one the group’s rappers. Before joining the group, he was a contestant on season 2 of Produce 101, ranking #83 overall.
After competing on the show, Daehyeon debuted as the main rapper in a fan project group called Rainz under Kiss Entertainment. Rainz debuted in October 2017 with six other Produce 101 contestants in its lineup before disbanding a year later.
Alongside being a talented idol, Daehyeon is also a former civil engineering student. His role models are G-Dragon and Zico, and he says his charm is his rap tone. He loves puppies, movies, and shopping.
Donghan
22-year-old Donghan (full name Kim Dong Han) is WEi’s main dancer and one of the group’s rappers. Before joining the group, he was a contestant on season 2 of Produce 101, ranking #29 overall.
After competing on the show, Donghan debuted as the lead vocalist, lead dancer, and maknae in a fan project group called JBJ under LOEN Entertainment. JBJ debuted in October 2017 with five other Produce 101 contestants in its lineup before disbanding in April 2018.
Donghan’s role model is SHINee‘s Taemin, but he’s also a major Jungkook-biased BTS fan. In the past, he’s written his own songs and created his own choreographies. Aside from the performing arts, his other special skill is martial arts (specifically aikido and hapkido).
Yongha
21-year-old Yongha (full name Yoo Yong Ha) is one of WEi’s vocalist. Before joining the group, he was a contestant on UNDER19. Yongha ranked 6th on the survival show, making it into the final lineup of 1THE9.
Yongha was considered 1THE9’s leader, lead rapper, and vocalist before the group official disbanded in August this year. He once revealed that his members didn’t treat him differently as a leader, which made him question his position.
Yongha is great at board games and a master of Korean jacks. His favorite song is IU‘s “Rain”, and he considers K-Pop covers to be his special skill. As for his likes, he’s a fan of fried chicken.
Yohan
21-year-old Yohan (full name Kim Yo Han) is one of WEi’s vocalists. Before joining the group, he was a contestant on Produce X 101. Yohan ranked #1 out of all contestants, making it into the final lineup of X1.
As the overall winner of the show, Yohan was X1’s center, face of the group, lead rapper, and vocalist. Remarkably, he only trained for 3 months before becoming a Produce X 101 contestant.
Though he may be relatively new to the idol industry, he’s a veteran martial artist, training in taekwondo for 13 years. Following in the footsteps of his taekwondo master father, he wont two championships before giving up the sport (and a scholarship) to become a star.
Seokhwa
19-year-old Seokhwa (full name Kang Seok Hwa) is WEi’s main vocalist. Before joining the group, he was an independent contestant on Produce X 101, ranking #35 overall. He also used to be a trainee under JYP Entertainment and later YG Entertainment.
While training under YG Entertainment, Seokhwa also competed on Treasure Box. Sadly, he was eliminated in episode 9, leading him to join Oui Entertainment.
Seokhwa is a big fan of Apink. He once revealed his hobby is daydreaming, while his skills are singing and writing lyrics.
Junseo
18-year-old Junseo (full name Kim Jun Seo) is WEi’s maknae and one of the group’s vocalists. Before joining the show, he was a contestant on Under 19. Junseo ranked 9th on the survival show, making it into the final lineup of 1THE9.
Junseo was considered 1THE9’s lead vocalist, lead dancer, rapper, and visual. vocalist before the group official disbanded in August this year. Even before he debuted, Under 19 fans considered him the show’s best visual.
Junseo’s favorite song is I.O.I‘s “Downpour” and he once learned how to play it on the piano. Some of his special skills include piano and photography. He likes chicken, homecooked meals, taking selfies, and watching movies.
