Popular Girl Group Member Lashes Back At Criticism Over Charlie Kirk Tribute Post
Former Wonder Girls‘ member Sunye recently faced criticism over a repost regarding Charlie Kirk‘s death. She had reposted a video of Kirk’s wife mourning him through a speech.

She had included a bible verse in the post. As Kirk has become a controversial figure in American politics due to his support of Trump and being a right-winter, not many took positively to her post. On September 17, 2025, Sunye posted a statement about the matter. She hit back at the criticism.

After watching the video of a wife’s plea over the tragic shooting death of her husband,
as a fellow mother, I shared a memorial post on my story with a heavy heart. Then, strangers whom I don’t even know came into my space to hurl insults at me.They vented their anger at me, citing Charlie Kirk’s political stances, his far-right, ultra-conservative positions, and even dragged Wonder Girls into it. Why do you go that far?
A person has died, and there is grief and remembrance. So, do you find yourself laughing and saying, “Good riddance” when a life is lost? Are you angry at me because I refused to stay silent? Coming into my space with demeaning words and needless conflict — to those who fill this space with language that is not beautiful,
please do not be offended when I respond with “delete and block.”Beyond my identity as an entertainer, a mother, or a woman, I mourned a person’s tragic death simply as a human being. And as a person, I live with the hope that the world I inhabit, and the world the next generation will inherit, can become even a little better.
We may have differing views and thoughts, but because we are different, we can adjust toward better directions. I believe it is within those meaningful, sometimes difficult clashes
that a better world can be born. Please do not use my memorial post to drag me into political or religious issues, and refrain from entering my space with disrespectful, inhumane behavior.— Sunye
