On May 25, YG Entertainment shared a video featuring Yang Hyun Suk, who shared news about the company’s upcoming plans for its artists.

The video began with Yang discussing BLACKPINK, who will resume group activities this year.

BLACKPINK have so far announced the title and dates of their tour, which is scheduled to begin in Seoul on July 5, 2025, with the last dates announced to take place in January 2026.

However, before the tour began, the group announced that they were returning with a new album.

Yang confirmed that new music would be coming, but the release date for “BLACKPINK’s new song” had yet to be confirmed. Later in the video, Yang does use the phrase “BLACKPINK’s new tour and new songs,” meaning more than one could be scheduled.

Many fans reacted to this news adversely, first noting that there was no scheduled date for the comeback that was supposed to happen in the next month.

Next, many were upset over the detail that a “new song” would be released, assuming that instead of an album, BLACKPINK would comeback with a single album with maybe one or two new tracks.

Since the announcement of the tour, BLACKPINK fans have had concerns over the lack of new music released, which you can read more about below.
