Yoo Ah In confessed to having smoked for 17 years and that he wishes to take better care of his health.

Have I smoked for 17 years now? Ew, smelly. I’ll probably miss it. But I’ll try anyway. Cough, cough. Bye, cigarettes.

But what many didn’t realize is the fact that when he swore to quit smoking, he swore to do it for the remaining days of 2020, not 2021.

In 2020, I’m going to stop smoking, exercise, and become healthier. If anyone spots me with a cigarette, let me know. I’ll pull down my underwear.

While it could easily be assumed that Yoo Ah In meant starting in 2020 into 2021, in a later post, Yoo Ah In jokingly accused the media of “tricking him” into quitting smoking in 2021, but took on the challenge anyway.

In my declaration to quit smoking this morning, I threw around the idea that I would stop smoking for the remaining 8 days of 2020. But because the media tricked me, I mean, encouraged me, I decided to extend my declaration into 2021 and onwards.

He cleverly thanked the media and fans for their misunderstanding and promised to try his best.

I extend my sincere gratitude to all of your misunderstanding and expectations, and promise to hide well and become healthy. I wish you success in quitting smoking as well!
