Yoo Jae Suk Hit With Unexpected Criticism for Crying on “You Quiz on the Block”
Yoo Jae Suk recently made headlines for crying for a volunteer nurse in Daegu who expressed, “I miss my family“, but he’s been now hit with unexpected criticism for his tears.
On an episode of You Quiz on the Block, Yoo Jae Suk interviewed volunteer nurse, Jung Dae Rae, who shared the hardships the hospitals in Daegu are going through due to the coronavirus.
And he was unable to hold back tears after hearing how difficult it had been for the nurse.
But following the broadcast, one native of Daegu shared a post criticizing Yoo Jae Suk for his reaction.
The netizen expressed, “I’m posting this out of rage after seeing ‘You Quiz on the Block.’ I live in Daegu. Are you only worried about the doctors and soldiers dispatched from Seoul?”
They continued, “Is Daegu a warzone or something? There are cases outside of Daegu, too. Seoul is one of them. You cried as if getting dispatched to work in Seoul is like signing up to die or something. If I knew you in person, I would’ve cussed you out.”
The netizen advised that he not use the words “danger” and “hardship” when talking about those dispatched to Daegu when the Daegu natives are having an even harder time.
The netizen concluded, “They’re not coming here to die. If you talk about how hard it is for them to be in Daegu and cry like it’s unfair, what are the Daegu people supposed to do? I’m really disappointed and I hate Yoo Jae Suk now.”
But many netizens disagreed with this opinion, expressing that Yoo Jae Suk was only sympathizing and praising the volunteer nurse, not trying to make Daegu look like a bad place.
Following much criticism, the netizen took down their post, but it’s been re-uploaded on You Quiz on the Block‘s viewer bulletin board.
