“All-Natural” Actress Gets Frustrated With Fellow Actors Undergoing Cosmetic Procedures
Korean celebrities and their long lists of cosmetic procedures to upkeep their looks are no secret; With time, more celebrities have become comfortable enough to talk about what kind of work they get done.
But in the latest video for Sunwoo Yong Yeo‘s YouTube channel, the veteran actress and her close friend Yoon Mi Ra—also a familiar face to K-Drama fans—got candid about their hoobae actors getting excessive cosmetic procedures.
During a car ride, Yoon Mi Ra mentioned that she has never had a cosmetic procedure done on her face. She noted that both Sunwoo Yong Yeo and she are “all-natural,” with “not even laser treatments” done.
Yoon Mi Ra: Since it’s considered cool these days to promote yourself, I’ll say this. What I’m most proud of is that I’ve never altered my face in any way.
PD: Not even Botox?
Yoon Mi Ra: No, I haven’t even had Botox. Both this unnie and I are all natural, living as we are.
PD: Not even laser treatments?
Yoon Mi Ra: Never.
Sunwoo Yong Yeo: I don’t even know what laser treatment is.
Then, Yoon Mi Ra revealed her frustration with how excessive cosmetic procedures affect acting, as she pointed out that some of her hoobae actors in the field are ruining their careers.
I always tell my hoobaes… They keep getting cosmetic procedures done and ruining their beautiful faces. It pains me to see. Your facial muscles are supposed to move, but with cosmetic procedures, they stop moving. Only their eyeballs move back and forth. How can you act like that?

Claiming “wrinkles that come with age are beautiful,” Yoon Mi Ra said her skincare routine simply consists of washing and moisturizing.
Yoon Mi Ra: Wrinkles that come with age are beautiful.
PD: What’s your secret, then, to having such great skin?
Yoon Mi Ra: I just wash my face and put some products on.
Sunwoo Yong Yeo: Yeah, I just use whatever good stuff I have (laughs).
Both Sunwoo Yong Yeo and Yoon Mi Ra are in their 70s, but still active in the Korean entertainment business as irreplaceable talent in the K-Movie, K-Drama, and even theater worlds.
