The Actress Who Was “Almost Disfigured” By An Accident On Set
An actress was almost severely injured on set.
Irene Wan is a 57-year old actress and singer from Hong Kong who is known for starring in shows such as Lonely Fifteen (1982), Everlasting Love (1984), and Rouge (1988).
In an interview with local media outlet HK01, she recounted the moment in her career that left her feeling scared for her life: when her long hair had caught on fire while she was posing for a photoshoot at a bar.
She remembered leaning back at one point while the camera was on her, and it was then when a lock of her hair met the flick of a candle. She continued posing without knowing that her hair was on fire. A picture that was later released from the photoshoot showed what could have been the flame spreading across her hair.
Fortunately for Irene Wan, her assistant ran onto the set and extinguished the flame. This event left a mental scar on her regardless, with the actress saying that she was frightened that she was “almost disfigured.” She could easily have left with third degree burns and not just with damaged hair.
