BABYMONSTER Chiquita’s Youthful Mom’s Dance Challenges Have Fans Hoping She’ll Debut
Since the beginning of the year, YG Entertainment has been teasing information about the pre-debut members of their upcoming girl group, BABYMONSTER, introducing fans to the seven talented trainees and BABYMONSTER hopefuls.
Although seven members have been introduced to the public, YG Entertainment announced shocked fans when they announced the group would never be seven. Instead, they’ve been documenting their pre-debut days in an online series, Last Evaluation, in which the pre-debut members take on challenges and train for a chance to be in BABYMONSTER’s final line-up.
In the latest episode, YG Entertainment formally stated that the group would consist of five members. Two will be eliminated in the final Last Evaluation episode to be revealed on May 12 at 12 AM KST.
Ever since I started think of planning for this group BABYMONSTER, the number of members I had in mind was 5.
None of the girl groups produced at YG had many members. BLACKPINK has 4, 2NE1 had 4 too.

Fans are hoping for a last-minute miracle after falling for the seven charming and talented pre-debut members and continue to support OT7.
Some of the group’s biggest supporters are the pre-debut line-up’s family members.
Chiquita’s mom recently earned attention for her support of BABYMONSTER and YG Entertainment through participating in dance challenges on TikTok, including a video for BLACKPINK Jisoo‘s “Flower.”

Most recently, she posted a dance challenge to 2NE1‘s “Fire,” which BABYMONSTER will perform in a 2NE1 mash-up during their final Last Evaluation episode.

Her adorable dance challenge had fans rushing to cheer on Chiquita’s mom and jokingly wondering when her mom would make her debut.

Talent clearly runs in Chiquita’s family; her older brother Copper Dechawat is from The Star Idol and survival show 789 TRAINEE.
