BABYMONSTER’s Rora Couldn’t Listen To Camila Cabello’s “Havana” After One Embarrassing Experience As A YG Entertainment Trainee

She likes the song but can’t listen to it 😂

BABMONSTER is YG Entertainment‘s upcoming girl group. The members are slowly being introduced in their official YouTube channel, with one of them being Rora.

BABMONSTER’s Rora

The 2008-liner was made known to viewers in a new video focusing on her talents and growth as an artist. She introduced herself as an all-rounder who is capable of both singing and dancing at a high level.

Though she kills it in almost every style…

…there is one song that gives her bad memories: “Havana” by Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello (ft. Young Thug).

Released in 2018, it immediately became the hottest song of the year as acknowledged by the likes of MTV, American Music Awards, Radio Disney, and more.

“Havana” was a syndrome all around the world, but Rora could not bare to listen to it after an embarrassing experience she had after singing the song. When asked about how her first monthly evaluation as a trainee went, she put her hands over her mouth and admitted, “It was so bad.”

A flashback clip was played right after. When Rora was only ten years old, she performed in front of fellow trainees as well as YG Entertainment staff members such as Yang Hyun Suk. Unfortunately, she forgot the lyrics to the song and began mumbling.

She sang, “He took me back to East Atlanta” instead of, “Half of my heart is in Havana.”

I completely forgot the lyrics so I couldn’t sing much.

Though five years have passed since then, Rora still finds the experience unfortunate. She tries to avoid the song as much as possible.

That’s why I haven’t listened to ‘Havana’ since then.

Despite the mistakes that were made, Yang Hyun Suk praised her for her perseverance and said that he could spot her potential.

Why are you crying? You don’t have to cry. It was cute. You have a great voice. If we work on your voice, I think you’ll be a great vocalist.

— Yang Hyun Suk

Rora proved him right. She can now sing any song—even ones by Camila Cabello—with ease.
