BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Spills On The Hollywood Movie That Inspired Their “Pink Venom” Outfits
BLACKPINK‘s “Pink Venom” was full of references, from a shout-out to one of Rihanna‘s biggest hit songs to scenes similar to the classic adventure movie Tomb Raider. It turns out another Hollywood movie influenced the group’s styling as well.
During Jisoo‘s interview with Teen Vogue magazine, she revealed which movie inspired their stage outfits for the comeback.
At the same time BLACKPINK were gathering ideas for their stage outfits, they happened to watch the movie Dune starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya. They decided “that direction would be great and something new.”
Making stage outfits that shared a similar look to Dune contrasted nicely with the rest of their outfits for the comeback. Jisoo explained, “Because most of the costumes were extravagant, we wanted to wear something low-key and chic. We thought that would work.”
It looks like a few eagle-eyed fans were able to put the pieces together and realized Dune had been an inspiration for the comeback.
