BTS’s RM Has Mastered The Art Of Giving The Best Speeches, As Proven At Variety’s Hitmakers Brunch

He sounds humble, grateful, and all around perfect.

On December 7, 2019, BTS graced Variety‘s Hitmakers Brunch at the Soho House in West Hollywood to accept their “Group of the Year” award. Upon hearing RM’s acceptance speech given on behalf of the group, ARMYs have come to realize that he has mastered the art of giving the best speeches — humble, grateful, and promising.

In his most perfect English, RM shared the honor with Variety, Big Hit Entertainment, fellow musicians, and of course, his favorite, ARMYs.

Since we’re not very used to this kind of event, I’m very nervous, but I’m going to take it easy. First of all, I’d like to say thank you to Shirley, of course, and all the editors at Variety for choosing us as group of the year. 2019 was truly a very exciting and surprising year for us, and this event really made it even more special.

— RM

RM sounded deeply inspired and motivated by the wholesome experience of meeting and mingling with all the current “hitmakers” in the music industry:

We’d like to express the biggest respect and admiration toward all the members of the music industry including artists, songwriters, and all the producers… and everyone who we met today. One thing was very clear; music has truly the power to overcome various kinds of barriers.

— RM

And as always, RM was filled with appreciation for ARMYs who make these awards possible for BTS.

We have to say thank you and that we love you to all the ARMYs all over the world who always sends us the greatest love and support.

— RM

Finally, before the group stepped off, RM left everyone at the brunch and all of ARMYs on a very hopeful note by dropping hints about the upcoming new music and album for 2020!

The great news is that we are currently working on our new music and new album and can’t wait to share them with you guys in the near future. I hope you guys are so excited to discover what BTS has in store in 2020.
