Choi and actress-turned-streamer Kang Eun Bi talked about their love lives on the August 13 episode of Pajama Sisters Party, a web series on the YouTube channel This is Really the Final. While Kang shut down rumors about her allegedly guest-less wedding and incest rumors, Choi addressed “ridiculous” gossip about her husband.

“The most absurd one was a rumor about a religious cult,” Choi began. According to the rumors, her husband, Kim, was a cult leader, and this rumor started because her husband’s company is called Club Eden. In Korea, several Christian churches and related institutions have “Eden” in their names, referencing the biblical Garden of Eden.

Because of the mix-up, Kim and Choi received a call from an Eden religious group, asking them to shut down the rumors. At the time, Choi didn’t think the rumors were worth denying because she couldn’t believe people actually thought they were true.

Next, Choi addressed the rumor that Kim owned half of the land in Gapyeong, a county in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. This rumor stemmed, in part, from a friend joking that Kim owned the property. Choi playfully said that she wished the rumor were true. If it were, she’d have plenty of money to spend!

Finally, Choi was asked about the rumors surrounding her alleged friendship with Kim’s ex-wife.

Choi said that she appeared on a broadcast with Kim’s ex-wife. She explained that shows need a “concept” for storytelling purposes. “There are scenes necessary for the story flow,” she said, but not everything you see onscreen, even in reality shows, is the truth.

Because of how Choi and Kim spoke to each other on the show, using the “unnie” (sister, older female friend) honorific, rumors arose that they were good friends. In reality, they aren’t actually close and don’t have a sisterly bond.
