The Problem Chungha’s Fans Unexpectedly Gave Her After She Left MNH Entertainment

She doesn’t mind though!

“Gotta Go” singer Chungha split from her company, MNH Entertainment, early last year. She was outspoken about the fact that they were at odds regarding her late music releases, inconsistent social media posting, lack of opportunities to perform live, and more.

It came as no surprise to fans when she announced she was parting ways with them. Unfortunately, the split was not as amicable as it could have been.

Besides not giving Chungha access to her YouTube channel…

Chungha’s original YouTube channel had 1.45 million subscribers

…she was also forced to leave behind her original Instagram account with almost five million followers. The soloist needed to start from scratch in order to rebuild her social media presence.

In an interview with Eric Nam on the “Daebak Show,” she named the roadblock that she unexpectedly faced when starting anew here. While it was understandable that some usernames that she wanted were taken, she soon found out that every single one that was on her list was unavailable—because of her fans, no less!

I want it to be very simple…I’m thinking of the simplest name because my name is taken by the fans. The simplest IDs are taken by my fans.

She wanted a concise handle that was related to her own name. Eric suggested reaching out to the account owners to ask to turnover their names, to which Chungha simply laughed.

Have you reached out to those accounts to say, ‘Can we please trade?’

Chungha ended up changing her username after the interview was shot. Luckily, the handle she ended up with—@chungha.art—was still available!

By the time this interview comes out, I’m pretty sure my ID will be changed.
