My Dearest Nemesis follows the leader of a department store’s planning team (played by Moon Ga Young), who discovers that her new boss (Choi Hyun Wook) is her first love. The two met while playing an online game 16 years ago.

Choi Hyun Wook plays Ban Joo Yeon, the young head of the strategic planning division of Yongseong Department Store. His parents tragically passed away, leaving him with his grandmother Jung Hyo Sun, who is played by Ban Hyo Jung. Hyo Sun is…how should we say this? The worst. She is the worst.

Not only does Hyo Sun blame Joo Yeon for his parents’ untimely deaths (because they died while taking him somewhere he wanted to go), she’s also cruel to him.

After putting the blame on Joo Yeon–who was terrified of her–she slapped him across the face and burned his most cherished possessions after he begged her not to.

The show is just getting started, so there is still time for Hyo Sun to have a redemption arc. Whether viewers are willing to forgive her is a different story…
