(G)I-DLE’s “2” Album Name Has A Double Meaning
(G)I-DLE recently made their comeback with their second full-length album 2 on January 29, 2024.
To celebrate the comeback, the members have been making group and solo appearances on variety shows and talk shows, including member Miyeon‘s recent appearance on Jenny’s Laundry Room with Korean Nigerian model and influencer Jenny Park.
As a self-producing idol group, the five (G)I-DLE members had a heavy hand in the creation and production of their second full-length album.
Many of the lyrics, arrangement, and composition credits on the album include the members’ names, and they also helped with the creative direction of their concept and music videos, earning praise and creating a buzz among netizens.
A lot of thought, effort, and care went into their comeback, with the group lacing the lyrics and visual content from the album with deeper meanings than what meets the eye, and during Miyeon’s appearance on Jenny’s Laundry Room, she revealed that they also hid another meaning in their album title.
Miyeon revealed to Jenny that the album was named 2 to represent that it was the group’s second full-length album, but also because the number “2” flipped upside down forms a “5.”
She explained that the second meaning behind it signifies that, through the album, (G)I-DLE would show “exactly the five of us.”
