As with the majority of their releases, the self-producing idol group members had a heavy hand in the songwriting, arrangement, composition, and creative direction of their new songs, music videos, and concepts.

Leader Soyeon has opened up about working with her fellow members in the studio and how strongly the members have advocated for their vision and the message they want to convey with their music.

Recently, she discussed her creative process more with veteran idol Rain on his YouTube channel Season B Season.

Rain and Soyeon compared their experiences advocating for their creative visions, with Rain hilariously sharing that his biggest opposing force was once his mentor and JYP Entertainment‘s founder, J.Y. Park.

For Soyeon, she has a secret weapon against “opposing forces,” admitting that she’s “very persuasive,” even if those forces are her “[fellow] members.

Since the release of (G)I-DLE’s 2022 hit song “TOMBOY,” Soyeon has been the group’s overall producer, allowing her more freedom and fewer “opposing forces” to stand in their way.

Soyeon also revealed that her aspirations as a producer extend beyond her work with (G)I-DLE, and she has a desire to produce for other idols as well.
